The Role: Industrial Relations Partner
As our Industrial Relations Partner, you will be the driving force behind thought leadership in industrial relations, performance management, investigation processes, employee relations, and people policies. This pivotal role requires providing strategic coaching and guidance to the People & Culture team and the broader business, ensuring a pragmatic, operationally viable, and commercially savvy approach.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain a robust Industrial Relations framework aligned with their business strategy.
- Provide strategic, process, and ad hoc negotiation support to P&C Managers and Plant Managers during the negotiation of Enterprise Agreements.
- Create people policies, including ANZ policies, standards, and guidelines. Maintain standard performance improvement, investigation, and reporting processes, offering coaching and support in their application.
- Determine and manage employee terms and conditions, including contracts, clauses, notice periods, and restraint periods. Ensure compliance with legislative requirements in the jurisdictions we operate in.
- Collaborate with the ANZ in-house Legal team to ensure alignment, manage advice/escalations as needed, and oversee governance requirements and relationships with external advisors.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Sound knowledge of IR/ER legislation across Australia with degree qualifications in HR, IR, or Legal.
- Several years' experience in a similar position within industries comparable to FMCG.
- Demonstrated negotiation experience in employment bargaining agreements.
- Continuous improvement mindset with experience developing best practice strategies, frameworks, and tools.
- High commercial acumen with the ability to make sound, independent judgments within established policies and procedures.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, high attention to detail, relationship management, and influencing skills. The ability and willingness to be both hands-on and strategic.
