Apply directThink Talent is partnering with a high-performing, values-led e-commerce business to appoint a People Experience Manager into a broad, standalone people role.
This is a brilliant opportunity for an HR generalist who is ready to truly own the people function — not sit inside a large HR team or simply coordinate from the sidelines.
You will be the go-to person across the full employee lifecycle, partnering closely with the leadership team to support culture, engagement, compliance, recruitment, employee relations and the overall onsite experience.
With AFR Best Places to Work recognition, and direct access to the COO and CEO, this is a role where you can make a visible impact from day one.
What you’ll be doingYou’ll own and drive the people experience across the business, including:
-
Acting as the primary HR contact for employees, managers and leaders
-
Providing practical advice across performance, employee relations, remuneration and workforce planning
-
Managing sensitive people matters with confidence, care and good judgement
-
Leading recruitment, onboarding, offboarding and employee lifecycle processes
-
Maintaining HR compliance, policies, documentation and employment records
-
Managing HRIS administration, payroll inputs, reporting and people operations
-
Creating meaningful culture, engagement, recognition and connection initiatives
-
Supporting the day-to-day office experience so the workplace feels energised, organised and welcoming
We’re looking for someone with around 3–7 years’ experience in a People & Culture, HR Generalist or HR Business Partner role who is ready for more ownership.
You’ll bring:
-
Strong Australian employment law and Fair Work knowledge
-
Confidence managing employee relations and sensitive people matters
-
Experience across recruitment, onboarding, HR operations and the full employee lifecycle
-
The ability to operate independently in a standalone HR role
-
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
-
A people-first approach, balanced with sound commercial judgement
-
Genuine energy for culture, employee experience and building a workplace people want to be part of
Experience in an SME, scale-up or fast-moving environment would be highly regarded, particularly where you’ve helped create structure rather than simply follow it.
Why this role? This is a hands-on, high-impact role with real ownership.
You’ll have the scope to shape the people function, influence culture, work directly with senior leaders and build a rhythm that supports a tight, capable and commercially focused team.
The role is based onsite in Port Melbourne, with a minimum of three days onsite each week, ideally Monday to Wednesday, and some flexibility once you are settled.
The package includes a competitive base salary plus superannuation, along with product-at-cost perks, regular events, exposure to a broader portfolio, birthday leave, wellness days and access to an employee assistance programme.
For someone who enjoys people, culture, pace, autonomy and a workplace that does not take itself too seriously, this is a role with plenty to sink your teeth into.
