Senior IT Service Desk Officer

12-Month Fixed-Term Contract

We are seeking an experienced Senior IT Service Desk Officer to join a high-performing ICT team in Sydney. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on IT professional who enjoys delivering exceptional technical support, leading deployments, and acting as a key escalation point across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide Level 1 and Level 2 ICT support to end users across hardware, software, telephony, AV, networking, and Microsoft 365 environments.
  • Procure ICT hardware and software aligned with business requirements.
  • Deploy, configure, and decommission ICT solutions, including end-user devices, telephony systems, and audio-visual equipment.
  • Deliver end-user training and coordinate vendor offboarding processes.
  • Coach and support team members while contributing to process improvements, documentation, and user guides.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders, technical teams, and vendors to resolve technical issues efficiently.
  • Provide expert technical advice to support business requirements gathering and solution design.
  • Manage vendor escalations and ensure timely communication and resolution of incidents.
  • Administer and maintain Service Desk systems, including configurations, upgrades, testing, and workflow enhancements.

About You

  • Extensive experience providing end-user IT support in an L1/L2 environment and acting as an escalation point.
  • Strong technical expertise across:
    • Windows operating systems
    • Microsoft 365
    • Computer hardware and software
    • Networking and printing
    • Telephony and AV systems
  • Proven experience delivering ICT deployments, including office setups, device builds, upgrades, and decommissioning.
  • Experience procuring ICT hardware and software as a technical SME.
  • Familiarity working within an ITIL environment.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and problem-solving skills.
