Are you passionate about building the next generation of AI-powered customer experiences?
We are partnering with a leading financial services organisation undertaking a major AI transformation programme and seeking a Senior AI Engineer to design, build, and scale enterprise-grade conversational AI platforms.
This role will focus on developing agentic AI solutions, leveraging Google Vertex AI, Gemini, multi-agent architectures, and LLM technologies to enable intelligent customer interactions at scale. You will play a key role in establishing AI engineering standards, evaluation frameworks, guardrails, and governance practices across production AI systems.
What You'll Be Doing
- Design and deliver AI-powered conversational and messaging platforms
- Build and orchestrate agentic AI solutions using multi-agent and sub-agent frameworks
- Develop scalable backend services using Python
- Integrate Google Gemini and other LLMs through Vertex AI into enterprise applications
- Design and implement AI guardrails, safety controls, and responsible AI frameworks
- Build LLM evaluation (Evals) frameworks to measure quality, relevance, safety, hallucinations, and business outcomes
- Establish and mature LLMOps capabilities, including monitoring, observability, and continuous improvement
- Deploy and support solutions within Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environments
- Implement CI/CD pipelines and contribute to DevOps best practices
- Collaborate with architecture, platform, security, and risk teams to deliver resilient and compliant solutions
- Ensure AI solutions meet governance, security, and regulatory requirements within an enterprise environment
Essential Experience
- Strong commercial Python engineering experience
- Proven experience building and deploying AI, ML, or LLM-based applications
- Hands-on experience with:
- Agentic AI and multi-agent architectures
- Google Vertex AI and Gemini
- LangChain or similar AI orchestration frameworks
- Prompt engineering and AI workflow design
- LLM evaluation frameworks (Evals)
- RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) solutions
- AI testing, benchmarking, and response quality measurement
- Strong Google Cloud Platform (GCP) experience
- Experience implementing AI guardrails, safety controls, and governance frameworks
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices
Highly Desirable
- Google ADK (Agent Development Kit)
- Kubernetes and containerised deployments
- Event-driven or streaming architectures
- Contact centre, chatbot, or conversational AI platforms
- AI observability and model monitoring tools
- Enterprise AI governance and responsible AI practices
Preferred Industry Experience
- Financial services, banking, insurance, wealth management, or other regulated environments
- Experience working within security-conscious and compliance-driven organisations
- Understanding of AI risk management, data governance, and regulatory requirements
