A leading national professional services firm is seeking a Risk and Safety Advisor to join its People & Development team in Sydney on a permanent basis. Reporting to the Head of Risk and Compliance, you will support the evolution of the firm's Health, Safety and Wellbeing framework nationally, with a strong focus on psychosocial safety. This is a priority hire with immediate interviews available for suitable candidates.
This is a rare opportunity to build on established WHS foundations at a nationally respected firm and shape the psychosocial safety agenda in a highly regulated professional services environment.

The People & Development function is a strategic partner to the business, supporting partners and staff nationally. This role sits at the heart of the firm's national risk and compliance agenda.
The Opportunity
Working alongside the Head of Risk and Compliance (P&D), you will:
- Support the evolution and development of Health, Safety and Wellbeing frameworks and initiatives nationally
- Own day-to-day management of the safety management system, including audit, risk assessment and hazard identification processes
- Support psychosocial safety programs aligned with SafeWork NSW's Code of Practice and equivalent state regulators
- Maintain the firm's people risk register and lead investigations into hazards
- Design and deliver compliance training including induction and refresher programs
- Guide P&D Business Partners on workers compensation and injury management claims
- Interpret awards and contracts, monitor legislative changes, and update policies accordingly
- Support wellbeing program development and pre-employment verification compliance
- Build collaborative stakeholder relationships across the business to secure commitment to compliance
About You
You are an experienced Safety Advisor, WHS Advisor, HSE Advisor or Risk & Compliance specialist ready to step into a role where your work directly shapes the wellbeing of a large national workforce. You will bring:
- Tertiary qualifications in Work Health & Safety, Risk Management, Human Resources or a related discipline (Diploma or higher)
- Demonstrated experience in a WHS Advisor, Safety Advisor or HSE Advisor role within professional services, financial services or a similar corporate environment
- Working knowledge of psychosocial safety legislation and codes of practice (SafeWork NSW psychosocial code exposure is a strong advantage)
- Experience managing safety management systems, audit programs and hazard investigations
- Sound understanding of workers compensation and injury management claims
- Ability to interpret awards, legislation and enterprise agreements
- Confidence advising senior stakeholders including partners and executives
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into pragmatic, business-aligned recommendations
