Bluechip brand in retail industry is seeking an experienced Head of Workplace Health & Safety to lead the national WHS strategy across ANZ and multisite.


About the Role:


As the Head of WHS, you’ll lead national initiatives that directly impact the safety and wellbeing of thousands of employees, contractors, and customers. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you’ll design and implement best-practice WHS systems tailored to fast-paced, high-volume operational settings.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Develop and drive a national WHS and wellbeing continuous improvement framework.
  • Lead the creation and deployment of safety tools, training, and compliance systems.
  • Manage WHS risk controls including kitchen safety, manual handling, and slips/trips/falls.
  • Monitor trends, deliver insights, and drive strategic safety initiatives.
  • Partner with injury management teams to support return-to-work programs.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Lead wellbeing initiatives across mental health, resilience, and engagement.


About You:


  • 10+ years in safety leadership within multi-site, customer-facing environments
  • Tertiary qualifications in WHS, Psychology, Health Sciences, or a related field.
  • Deep understanding of Australian WHS and workers’ compensation laws.
  • Demonstrated experience leading national WHS and wellbeing strategies.
  • Strong influencing and coaching capabilities.
  • Commercially astute with a strategic mindset and root cause problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement ability.
