Jayce Grayye Consulting & Recruiting is seeking a Tax Credit Specialist for one of our clients! They are a specialized financial services firm that helps small businesses and nonprofit organizations obtain the Employment Retention Credit (ERC) from the US government.
This Tax Credit Specialist will oversee our client’s processing of the FFCRA 1099/sole proprietorship tax credits. You should be 1040 experts, among other tax/IRS skills. This position is for someone who is extremely confident AND curious in their knowledge of income taxes. They must be highly proficient in finding the answers to questions they do not know and willing to double-check everything including their ego. We are looking for someone who is an authority and always looking to expand their knowledge and personal growth.
They are a small team of about 7 and personal/individual accountability and responsibility are paramount. Applicants must have excellent written and verbal communication skills to efficiently communicate with team members and external clients and partners.
Structure & Compensation
- $95,000-$170,000 USD Base + bonus structure (base varies based on experience).
- A significant bonus is available depending on performance
- and overall revenues.
- Independent contract-based position but seeking a team member that at least can typically commit for at least 1 year +
- Fully remote, full-time, but flexible schedule (as long as the job gets done)

Day to Day
Initially, the position will entail processing the modest backlog of 1040x’s we have to process for the credit and ultimately oversee their process and workflow on processing these at scale. This includes:
- Working with our client to develop a workflow on processing in the double digits+ per day
- Expertise in communicating with the IRS on the FFCRA
- Overseeing/reviewing other people’s work
- Deep understanding of 7202s (can be learned in a few days)
- Applicant must have PTIN, CAF, Tax Pro account
- Applicant must have experience with/access to e-file tax software
Would be really nice to have:
- EA, CPA, and other tax prep certifications
- Experience filing dozens of FFCRA credits/7202s
- R&D, electric car, and other tax credit experience
- ERC experience, but not necessary
Our client already has the process in place to create 7202s to maximize credits and they are looking for someone who can help them quickly amend 2020 and 2021 returns so that they can keep their flow going. They require each client to sign 8821s and give them access to their tax account record, wage and income, and civil penalty transcripts.
These amended returns are not from scratch, they are just amending Schedule 3/attaching 7202. They will be paper-filling through the end of this year and then e-filing again in January.
Qualifications
- 2+ years experience with account management/client success
- Passion for USA tax law and a firm understanding of it
- 1+ years of team managerial experience
- 1+ working in the financial-related industry
- Experience in the fields of financial management,
- accounting, or tax preparation
