About the Role
The school is seeking a VCE English Teacher (0.6 FTE) commencing in Term 3, 2026 through to the end of the school year. The role involves teaching VCE English across the senior years, supporting students to achieve strong academic outcomes through engaging and differentiated learning experiences.
The current teaching load includes a Year 10 Psychology class; however, this is expected to be replaced with an additional English class. Applicants with the ability to teach Psychology will be viewed favourably, though this is not essential.
This opportunity would suit an educator who is passionate about literacy, critical thinking, and fostering a positive learning environment within a collaborative secondary setting.
Skills and Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and effective VCE English programs aligned with the Victorian Curriculum and VCAA requirements
- Ability to teach Psychology will be viewed favourably but is not essential
- Maintain high standards of student safeguarding, wellbeing, and classroom management
- Communicate professionally with students, colleagues, and families
- Collaborate effectively within the English faculty and broader school community
Requirements
- Current VIT registration or eligibility to obtain
- Full Australian work rights
- Commitment to supporting Catholic education and contemporary pedagogy
- Ability to provide two professional referees
- Completion of HARKE onboarding requirements relating to safeguarding and compliance
