About the Position
This ongoing 0.8 FTE position involves teaching Product Design and Woodwork to students in Years 7–10. Working within a supportive Technologies faculty, the successful candidate will deliver engaging, hands-on learning experiences that develop students' design thinking, practical workshop skills, and safe use of tools and equipment. This opportunity would suit a teacher who enjoys project-based learning and inspiring students through practical education.
Skills and Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging Product Design and Woodwork lessons aligned with the Victorian Curriculum for Years 7–10.
- Maintain a safe and well-organised workshop environment, ensuring all safeguarding and WHS requirements are met.
- Communicate effectively with students, families and colleagues to support student progress and wellbeing.
- Collaborate with the Technologies faculty to develop practical learning programs and assessment.
- Foster creativity, problem-solving and practical skills through engaging classroom and workshop experiences.
Requirements
- Registration: Hold or be eligible for Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration.
- Work Rights: Full Australian working rights are essential.
- Safeguarding: Provide two current referees and complete HARKE's onboarding process to meet safeguarding requirements.
