CNC Operator/Setup

Seeking an experienced CNC Operator/Setup professional to operate and set up CNC mills and/or lathes to produce precision machined components. This role follows engineering drawings, quality standards, and production schedules to complete a variety of short-run jobs in a fast-paced environment. The right candidate has solid machining knowledge, works well independently, and takes pride in safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and fine-tune CNC milling and turning machines.

  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine machining requirements.

  • Select, install, and adjust tooling, fixtures, and materials for each job.

  • Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.

  • Edit offsets and make minor program adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency.

  • Troubleshoot machining issues and recommend process improvements.

  • Maintain compliance with ISO 9001 quality standards and internal work instructions.

  • Complete required documentation and inspection records.

  • Keep machines and work area clean and organized in line with 5S standards.

  • Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Hands-on CNC machining experience required.

  • Ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring equipment (micrometers, calipers, hand gauges).

  • Ability to read and understand written and verbal instructions in English, including safety rules, operating procedures, and manuals.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and complete a physical exam if required.

  • Willingness to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.

  • Experience with Mazak programming, G-code, and GD&T is a plus.

Benefits/Compensation

  • Full Time

  • Pay Rate is $20-$27 per hour, based on experience

  • 1st and 2nd Shift

  • Weekly pay while employed through Career Concepts

  • Benefits available while employed through Career Concepts

  • Temp-To-Hire

  • Benefits after Probation period
