Position
An opportunity exists for a Commissioning Engineer to support the delivery of a major water infrastructure project.
This is a hands-on, site-based role, leading the transition of a large-scale treatment facility from construction through to full operation. Reporting to the Commissioning Manager, you will lead a small team of trades and take ownership of testing, fault finding, and plant start-up activities.
This role is suited to individuals from either a trade or engineering background, but must be practically minded and comfortable working on the tools, solving problems in real time.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement commissioning plans, procedures, and schedules across key plant systems (screens, pumps, chemical dosing, clarifiers, centrifuges/dewatering equipment)
- Lead system testing activities including FAT/SAT, fault finding, and performance optimisation during start-up
- Verify installations against P&IDs and design documentation, ensuring compliance with environmental and regulatory standards
- Work closely with automation teams to test and refine SCADA/PLC systems, instrumentation, and control logic
- Trade qualified (Mechanical Fitter, Electrician, or similar) or degree qualified in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Process, or similar)
- Strong hands-on commissioning, start-up, or shutdown experience in industrial or process environments
- Background in water, wastewater, mining, oil & gas, or similar sectors
- Experience working with equipment such as pumps, screening systems, chemical dosing, and sludge/dewatering processes
