Position Summary
An opportunity exists for an experienced Design Manager (Water Infrastructure) to support the delivery of major water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
You will take ownership of the design function across projects, ensuring all phases are delivered in line with programme, budget, and quality objectives.
Working closely with construction, commercial, and engineering teams, you will play a critical role in ensuring design outcomes are practical, buildable, and aligned with project delivery requirements.

You will take ownership of the design function across projects, ensuring all phases are delivered in line with programme, budget, and quality objectives.
Working closely with construction, commercial, and engineering teams, you will play a critical role in ensuring design outcomes are practical, buildable, and aligned with project delivery requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of all design phases in line with project programmes and commercial objectives
- Manage design consultants, specialist advisors, and internal engineering teams
- Oversee design programme development, tracking progress and mitigating delivery risks
- Administer design-related contractual processes including RFIs, variations, and change control
- Ensure all design outputs are coordinated, compliant, and optimised for cost-effective construction
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and key stakeholders
Required Experience
- Degree-qualified in Engineering or a related discipline
- Proven experience as a Design Manager or Senior Design/Project Engineer within civil or water infrastructure
- Experience delivering water and/or wastewater treatment plants, pipelines, or complex infrastructure projects
- Strong leadership capability with experience managing multidisciplinary design teams
- Solid understanding of design management processes, contract administration, and commercial drivers
