- Global leader in data centre solutions
- Selling across both White Space and Grey Space infrastructure
- Strong mix of existing account management and new business development
- Major growth planned within the Norwegian data centre market
- Senior specification and project-led sales position
The Company:
Our client is a major global provider of data centre infrastructure and technical solutions, with a long-established presence in Norway and significant operations internationally.
They provide a broad portfolio of solutions across both White Space and Grey Space, allowing them to support customers across multiple areas of a data centre project rather than competing on a single product or price alone.
With significant investment and continued growth within the Norwegian data centre market, they are now looking for a Senior Account Manager to join their team and take responsibility for developing key accounts and projects across Norway. This role has come up due to internal promotion, so this region is well looked after, and you will have a full handover and training period with the existing sales professional.
The Role:
As Senior Account Manager, you will manage and grow major data centre accounts across Norway while also developing new opportunities in this rapidly expanding market.
The role is approximately 50% account management and 50% new business, working with multi-tenant data centre operators, end users, engineering consultants, architects, contractors and installers.
A major focus will be getting involved at the early design and specification stage, building relationships with consultants and design teams, then following projects through the full sales cycle to contractors, procurement teams, and end users.
You will sell solutions across both:
- White Space: networking, cabling, server storage and racking
- Grey Space: switchgear, UPS, chillers, cooling systems and conduits
Typical contacts will include Design Engineers, Consultants, Specifiers, Project Managers, Contracts Managers and Procurement teams.
Projects can have sales cycles of approximately 12 months, so you need to be comfortable developing opportunities over the long term, managing multiple stakeholders and maintaining relationships throughout the full project lifecycle.
You will have the support of an established internal sales team alongside the resources and product portfolio of a major global organisation.
The Person:
Ideally, we are looking for someone with experience selling into the data centre market who already understands the route to market and project lifecycle in Norway.
Grey Space data centre experience would be particularly relevant, including products such as UPS, switchgear, cooling, chillers, power or associated infrastructure.
We are also very interested in candidates with:
- White Space data centre experience across networking, cabling, storage or racking
- Grey Space product experience within broader commercial, industrial or project-led markets
- Strong specification or project sales experience dealing with consultants and contractors
- Experience developing relationships with data centre operators and end users
- A strong understanding of long and complex project sales cycles
- The commercial ability to develop existing accounts while also generating new business
You need to be polished, credible and comfortable dealing with technical and commercial stakeholders at all levels. This is a close-knit team, so they are looking for someone collaborative, honest and commercially strong rather than an overly aggressive sales approach.
Fluent Norwegian is essential for this position.
Territory:
This is a nationwide Norwegian role, with approximately 50% of activity focused around the south and main urban areas. Some customers and data centre projects are further north and around the fjords, so nationwide travel will be required.
Ideally, you will be based close to Oslo or another major transport route.
The role offers a flexible working structure, typically around 3 days working from home and 2 days visiting customers and project sites, depending on requirements.
The Package:
- Base Salary: NOK 920,000–1,080,000 base, flexible to NOK 1,190,000.
- OTE: 20–25% on top of base salary
- Car Allowance
- Pension
- Mobile & Laptop
- Full Product & Business Training
- International support from a global organisation
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced data centre sales professional to take ownership of a growing Norwegian market, selling a broad portfolio across both White and Grey Space and getting involved in major projects from initial design and specification through to delivery.
