Apply directThis successful operation is a highly regarded Melbourne based Superannuation fund, having grown significantly through a series of successful mergers in recent years. They provide a professional and stimulating work environment, and their dynamic team promotes a focused and non-hierarchical culture. As the organisation continues to develop and strengthen its governance framework, they are seeking an experienced Governance Manager to support the effective operation of the governance and company secretariat function.
Reporting to a supportive and well respected Deputy Company Secretary, you will operate as a hands-on governance specialist, contributing to both the design and the execution of governance activity across the organisation. In this role, you will:
- manage and maintain key governance frameworks and processes, including policies, procedures, and supporting documentation;
- support Board and Director governance activities, including onboarding, induction, and ongoing Director education;
- provide company secretariat support to the Deputy Company Secretary and the Chief Legal Officer and Company Secretary, including preparation and coordination of Board and Committee materials;
- assist with the continuous improvement of governance processes, including the identification of opportunities for greater efficiency and consistency; and
- maintain statutory records and support compliance with relevant regulatory and lodgement obligations.
The ideal candidate will be tertiary qualified, with several years of experience in a directly comparable governance or company secretariat supporting role, and a strong understanding of governance frameworks as they apply to regulated entities. You will bring highly developed organisational and communication skills, together with a mature and considered approach, and will be equally comfortable operating at a detailed, process level and contributing to broader governance design. With strong interpersonal skills, you will build effective working relationships across the organisation, including with Directors and senior executives. Superannuation or financial services industry experience is preferred, however candidates with broader regulated industry experience will also be considered.
