As Principal City Design, you'll lead a multidisciplinary team, champion design excellence and help shape the places, policy and projects that will define the Region for decades to come.

You'll elevate the profile of City Design across Council, helping shape policy, influence decision-making and build a collaborative, solutions-focused function that contributes well beyond individual projects.

You will:

• Lead and develop the City Design function across urban design, architecture, landscape architecture, public realm, placemaking and heritage-related design advice.
• Help shape outcomes connected to the Region Futures Program, City Centre Master Plan, the new Planning Scheme and major development proposals
• Champion design thinking that balances growth, liveability, character, community expectations and practical delivery
• Work collaboratively with Council teams, industry specialists, developers, community members and decision-makers
• Build visibility, influence and confidence of City Design as a proactive, solutions-focused function
• Deliver work that can be seen, experienced and valued across the Region.

Why you?

You may come from architecture, urban design, landscape architecture, placemaking, planning or a related built environment discipline.

Whether your experience has been gained in local government, consulting or private practice you'll bring leadership capability, design judgement, stakeholder influence and a passion for creating great places.
