The Asset Specialist is to support the development, implementation and continuous improvement of Council’s asset management framework, policies, systems and practices to ensure informed decision making, sustainable service delivery and compliance with legislative and financial requirements.
Specific knowledge and competencies will include:
- Develop, implement and manage an asset management framework to effectively manage Council’s asset portfolio in alignment with Council’s corporate plan and long-term financial plan.
- Develop, implement and manage asset plans, policies and improvement plans to support the framework.
- Support the development and maintenance of Council’s asset management plans across all asset classes.
- Support lifecycle modelling and long-term renewal and maintenance planning.
- Assist in the development of capital works programs based on risk, condition and service levels.
- Assist with financial reporting and auditing requirements.
- Develop, implement and maintain asset accounting policies.
- Assist in the maintenance of Council’s long-term financial plan
- Align asset data with long term financial planning
- Maintain asset registers and ensure data integrity across systems (GIS, asset management systems and finance systems).
- Develop and implement revaluation programs.
- Coordinate condition assessments, revaluations and asset audits.
To be considered for this opportunity, you will need to demonstrate strong analytical skills with experience in data analysis and reporting. A Degree in Engineering, Asset Management, Finance, GIS or related discipline or equivalent experience. You will have strong capabilities to manage key stakeholder relationships whilst continuing to build organisational capability.
You must be an active and agile, progressive, collaborative with strong empathy and emotional intelligence. Building and driving a multi-disciplined team to short, medium- and long-term targets. Experience and expertise in asset management, infrastructure planning, project management, performance reporting and stakeholder management is essential.
