Fitter

We are currently seeking an experienced Fitter to join our growing team. This role is responsible for fitting, assembling, and preparing metal components according to blueprints and specifications. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a fabrication or manufacturing environment and possess strong welding, measuring, and blueprint-reading skills.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and welding symbols.

• Layout, fit, align, and secure parts and assemblies according to specifications.

• Operate welding equipment including MIG, TIG, Stick, air arc machines, and cutting torches.

• Tack weld and weld components as required.

• Perform welding in flat, vertical, and overhead positions.

• Use grinders and other tools to deburr and finish metal surfaces

• Inspect work using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and tape measures.

• Conduct quality checks throughout the fabrication process.

• Perform routine equipment inspections and report any maintenance or safety concerns.

• Receive and unload materials as needed.

• Maintain accurate production records and timekeeping documentation.

• Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe.

• Work independently and collaboratively to meet production goals.

Qualifications and Skills

• At least 3 years as a previous experience as a Fitter, Welder/Fitter, Fabricator, or similar manufacturing role preferred.

• Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings.

• Experience with MIG, FCAW, and TIG welding processes preferred.

• Knowledge of stainless steel, carbon steel, and aluminium fabrication.

• Experience operating overhead cranes and forklifts is a plus.

• Familiarity with hand tools, grinders, measuring devices, and fabrication equipment.

• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.

• Excellent problem-solving and math skills.

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 75 pounds occasionally.

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, and perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the workday.

Benefits/Compensation

• Full Time

• Pay Rate is $26-$30 per hour, based on experience

• Shift 1st 7a-3:30p

• Weekly pay while employed through Career Concepts

• Benefits available while employed through Career Concepts

• Temp-To-Hire
