The Job

Reporting directly to the Partners, you will oversee a portfolio of business and SMSF clients while providing technical guidance and mentoring to the accounting team.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Review annual financial statements, income tax returns and Activity Statements across a variety of entity structures
• Mentor and support intermediate accountants and graduates through job reviews and ongoing development
• Manage client relationships through meetings, phone calls and written correspondence
• Facilitate tax planning engagements and provide proactive taxation and business advisory services
• Liaise with the ATO and other government bodies on behalf of clients
• Ensure compliance with Payroll Tax, WorkCover and QBCC reporting requirements
• Collaborate with referral partners including lawyers, financial planners, mortgage brokers and bookkeepers
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, minimise risk and add value to client businesses through ongoing strategic planning and advisory support

You

To be successful, you will possess:

• Minimum 8 years experience within public practice accounting
• CA, CPA or IPA qualifications
• Demonstrated experience managing a client portfolio with annual billings of $500K+
• Exposure to QBCC Minimum Financial Reporting (MFR) requirements, ideally Category 1 or above
• SMSF experience
• Experience applying Double Tax Agreements (DTAs) would be highly regarded
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• A collaborative leadership style with a passion for mentoring others
