Financial Accountant - Climate Action

The opportunity As the Financial Accountant you will be supporting the Financial Controller and the Finance Team in maintaining and ensuring system data, reporting, and general accounting duties are completed accurately and in a timely manner. You will also be working with the Operations team and external stakeholders on financial management system functionalities. You'll be responsible for: AR & AP. Journals & Reconciliations. Prepares GST, FBT, Payroll and Corporate Income Tax returns. Monthly reports covering balance sheet, P&L, cashflow, and internal management reports. Assists with year-end statutory accounts. Direct management with external accountants/auditors. About you As a part of a small team based in Australia and a larger one internationally, you will be excellent at collaborating across time zones and switching easily between long term project work and day-to-day responsibilities. You have the ability to convey complex financial information in laymen’s terminology and are looking to utilise your skills in helping to solve the climate crisis. In addition, you will have: Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or Finance, and membership of a recognised professional accounting organisation or equivalent. High level of competence in financial management systems, Excel (or similar), numeracy and reporting tools. A strong analytical mindset to problem solving, with meticulous attention to detail, and a methodical approach to troubleshooting. A passion for supporting action on climate change and a commitment to justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion.
