ABOUT THE COMPANY
Join a highly regarded not-for-profit with a strong community focus and a genuine commitment to creating meaningful social impact. With a broad fundraising function and extensive reach, the organisation offers the scale, expertise and internal connections to build a rewarding career. This is a collaborative, values-led environment where fundraising plays a critical role in enabling essential services and long-term outcomes for communities.

ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a major gifts development opportunity, not a traditional administration-focused coordinator role. Supporting a dedicated Major Gifts Manager, you’ll research and qualify prospects, steward donors and progressively take ownership of smaller relationships and projects. You’ll attend donor meetings, contribute to proposals and asks, and build the skills to manage your own portfolio and secure five-figure gifts.

DUTIES
  • Support the delivery of the major gifts strategy and contribute to the growth of a strong donor pipeline
  • Research, identify and qualify prospective major donors and uncover opportunities for deeper engagement
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with donors, providing thoughtful and personalised stewardship
  • Manage smaller donor relationships as your confidence and capability develop
  • Coordinate donor communications, proposals, impact reports, stewardship materials and cases for support
  • Prepare donor profiles, briefing materials and reports ahead of meetings and engagement activity
  • Attend donor meetings, events and site visits and contribute to cultivation and solicitation conversations
  • Maintain accurate donor records, track engagement activity and monitor progression through the pipeline
  • Analyse portfolio activity to identify opportunities for donor retention, reactivation, acquisition and increased giving
  • Collaborate with internal teams to gather compelling impact information and translate it into meaningful donor communications
  • Coordinate specific major gifts projects and initiatives, taking increasing ownership over time
  • Contribute to the growth of multi-year and higher-value philanthropic support
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and experience across fundraising, philanthropy, communications or a related discipline
  • Experience in donor stewardship, donor relations, fundraising, grants, trusts and foundations or a similar relationship-focused environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills and genuine confidence building relationships with donors and stakeholders
  • Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to create personalised and compelling donor communications
  • Strong research skills and curiosity about donor motivations, interests and giving capacity
  • Demonstrated organisation, project coordination and operational management capability
  • Confidence working collaboratively across a large and geographically dispersed organisation
  • An ambitious, proactive approach and genuine interest in developing into a more donor-facing major gifts role
  • NSW driver licence
  • Experience within a membership-based organisation is advantageous but not essential
BENEFITS
  • Exceptional development opportunity within a growing and increasingly specialised major gifts function
  • Work closely with a dedicated Major Gifts Manager who can support your progression and capability development
  • Build hands-on experience managing donor relationships, attending meetings and participating in asks
  • Develop exposure to high-net-worth philanthropy, multi-year funding and significant gifts
  • Hybrid working arrangements with WFH flexibility
  • Gain broad exposure across fundraising, communications, finance and frontline service teams
  • Join a purpose-led organisation where your work directly supports meaningful community outcomes
  • Opportunity to grow your responsibilities and take ownership of increasingly valuable donor relationships
