Sustainability Manager - Real Estate

The opportunity The Real Estate Sustainability Manager will play a critical role in embedding sustainability concepts into major global real estate projects. You will focus on ensuring sustainability is factored into site selection and leasing decisions and the design/construction of office fit-outs. Additional responsibilities include: Driving operational efficiencies though the identification and implementation of opportunities to improve energy and sustainability performance for global real estate portfolios Directly managing relationships with key stakeholder groups including internal stakeholders, designers, contractors, consultants and approval authorities to achieve required business outcomes Implementing and developing best practice design and project briefs with reference to legislation, Australian and other global Standards, safety in design, and the organisations own design and quality guidelines. Improving governance and accountability around the sustainable real estate program to achieve their 2030 World Climate targets including managing risks connected to the achievement of sustainability targets Engaging with facility managers, energy champions, and account colleagues as key points of contact in relation to all aspects of environmental sustainability Developing and enhancing systems and processes for delivering best practice sustainability performance and use of utility/sustainability management systems for monitoring and/or reporting purposes About you You are a leader in the fields of architecture or design management, with a proven track record demonstrating thought leadership and excellence in design, both at the front end and through delivery. In addition, you will have: Degree in relevant sustainability, architectural or engineering Minimum of 2 years' experience in either a sustainability consultancy, design role or in-house delivering sustainable real estate projects Assessor Certification, and experience of, applying LEED/ BREEAM/ WELL and/or other equivalent rating tools Experience of undertaking embodied carbon analysis for new constructions or refurbishment projects Project management experience with complex projects within the built environment from design to handover. Experience of monitoring buildings in operation is ideal.
