Senior Associate - Construction Engineering

The Opportunity

An opportunity now exists for an experienced Senior Associate to join the Brisbane office and play a key leadership role within the Construction Engineering team.

Reporting to the Construction Engineering Director, you will oversee multiple concurrent projects while leading, mentoring and developing a team of engineers. This position offers the opportunity to combine technical leadership, client relationship management and commercial responsibility, while developing toward broader business and executive leadership responsibilities.

More specifically, your responsibilities will include:

• Act as the primary point of contact for clients, building and maintaining long-term relationships that generate repeat business and a consistent pipeline of work
• Prepare and manage fee proposals, ensuring commercial risks and project requirements are accurately assessed
• Lead project planning activities including budgets, programs, design briefs and project meetings
• Manage project delivery, tracking budgets, timelines and performance to ensure successful outcomes
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers
• Collaborate with leaders across the business to manage resources, resolve delivery challenges and maintain project performance
• Identify and manage project risks, delays and resource constraints before they impact delivery
• Conduct performance reviews and contribute to the growth and development of the engineering team
• Drive high standards of quality, consistency and client service across all project activities
• Play a visible leadership role that reflects the organisation's values

About You

We'd love to speak with candidates who can demonstrate:

• Degree qualifications in Civil or Structural Engineering recognised by Engineers Australia
• Solid experience within structural, civil, temporary works, construction engineering or infrastructure project environments
• Experience leading engineering teams and coordinating the delivery of complex projects
• Strong client relationship management skills, including experience preparing proposals and securing project opportunities
• Commercial awareness with demonstrated experience managing budgets, project performance and variations
• Strong knowledge of Australian Standards relevant to structural design, temporary works and construction engineering
• Experience using engineering design software such as SpaceGass, Strand7, Tekla TEDDS or similar platforms
• CPEng and/or RPEQ highly regarded
• Ability to undertake occasional site visits and infrequent interstate travel as required.
