Our client is a leading international manufacturer with a long-standing reputation for innovation, engineering excellence and product development. With products sold worldwide and a significant investment in research and development, they continue to develop cutting-edge solutions for domestic and commercial markets.


As part of their ongoing investment in new product development, they are seeking a Senior Product Development Engineer to join their engineering team in Louth.


THE ROLE:


This is a key position within the product development team, responsible for leading the design, development and improvement of innovative products from concept through to manufacture.


Working cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, quality and commercial teams, the successful candidate will play an integral role in delivering high-quality products while driving continuous innovation and technical excellence.


Key responsibilities include:


• Leading product development projects from concept through to production

• Developing innovative engineering solutions to meet customer and market requirements

• Supporting product design, testing, validation and continuous improvement activities

• Working closely with manufacturing teams to ensure successful product launches

• Conducting design reviews, risk assessments and technical evaluations

• Producing and reviewing engineering documentation and specifications

• Supporting prototype development and testing programmes

• Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders throughout development cycles

• Identifying opportunities for product improvement, cost reduction and enhanced performance

• Ensuring products meet relevant regulatory, quality and safety standards


THE PERSON:


We are looking to speak with candidates who have experience within product development, mechanical engineering, design engineering, manufacturing engineering or R&D environments. Experience developing consumer products, electrical products or engineered solutions would be particularly advantageous.


The ideal candidate will have:


• Degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, Manufacturing Engineering or a related discipline

• Proven experience within product development or design engineering

• Experience taking products through the full development lifecycle

• Strong problem-solving and technical analysis skills

• Experience working within a manufacturing environment

• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills

• Strong project management and organisational abilities

• Experience with CAD systems and product development tools

• A passion for innovation and continuous improvement

• Base Salary: €65,000 – €85,000 DOE
