NGO - Senior Communications Manager

At ConnectedGroup, we are supporting a local non-profit organization in the search for a Senior Communications Manager to lead communications strategy and execution. This person will be responsible for amplifying visibility and engagement, effectively managing social media, and delivering a positive stakeholder experience. This role requires someone who is hands-on, bilingual (English, Cantonese), and able to balance strategic planning with day-to-day delivery.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a consistent, authentic communications voice across platforms in English and Chinese. Capture and share stories that inspire organizational engagement.
• Produce and edit impactful content including newsletters, reports, donor communications, and campaign materials.
• Lead communications for major initiatives and events, ensuring strong visibility and engagement.
• Oversee content and usability of the website, advocating for a seamless user journey.
• Design and execute plans to grow and better engage stakeholders through social media, with a particular focus on deepening affiliation and recognition.
• Build and maintain relationships with media outlets to amplify organizational impact.
• Provide oversight and communications support for fundraising and community events, working closely with team members responsible for delivery.
• Use AI tools responsibly to optimize workflows, generate content, and analyze engagement data.
• Mentor and manage junior communications staff, fostering collaboration and high-quality output.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, or similar
• Minimum 8 years of experience in communications, marketing, or related fields. Nonprofit experience is welcome but not essential.
• Strong written and verbal communication in both English and Chinese.
• Solid understanding of social media platforms, digital trends, and audience engagement strategies.
• Proven skills in crafting narratives that move people to take action, a good storyteller.
• Strong communication and presentation abilities.
• Comfort with AI tools for content creation and workflow optimization.
• Experience managing and developing team members.
• Open-minded, with a hands-on approach, adaptable to a dynamic environment, with enthusiasm for community engagement and impact delivery
• Salary budget up to HKD44,000.
