The Opportunity


We are partnering with a large government organisation seeking an Industrial Relations & Investigations Officer to join a high-performing Employee Relations team.

This role sits at the core of workforce relations, supporting the management of workplace complaints, investigations, and industrial matters across a complex and diverse environment.

You will be hands-on in managing cases, advising leaders, and ensuring best practice outcomes across employee relations and compliance.


The Role


  • Manage end-to-end workplace investigations, including misconduct and disciplinary matters
  • Provide practical advice on industrial relations issues, awards, and employment legislation
  • Support leaders with employee relations case management, performance issues, and complaints
  • Assist in resolving workplace disputes and contributing to positive outcomes
  • Work closely with senior ER and legal stakeholders on more complex matters
  • Support union-related matters, consultations, and negotiations as required
  • Prepare investigation reports, briefings, and recommendations
  • Promote compliance with policies, procedures, and legislative requirements


What We’re Looking For


  • Experience in employee relations and/or industrial relations roles
  • Proven capability in conducting workplace investigations
  • Sound understanding of Australian employment legislation and industrial frameworks
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and prioritise effectively
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to handle sensitive matters
  • Experience in government or unionised environments is highly regarded
