The Organisation

Housing All Australians (HAA) is a national, business-led organisation reframing housing as essential economic infrastructure. We mobilise private-sector expertise, capital and networks to deliver practical outcomes and lasting reform.

By joining HAA, you will be part of a growing, purpose-driven movement where you can roll up your sleeves, see the direct impact of your contributions, and leverage your professional network to drive meaningful change in housing outcomes. These are voluntary, pro bono Board Subcommittee governance appointments.

The Opportunity

We are seeking Board Subcommittee Members to join HAA’s Finance & Risk Subcommittee, shaping the financial sustainability, governance, and enterprise risk frameworks that underpin our national growth.

As HAA transitions from a volunteer-led movement to scaling under its first CEO, this Subcommittee will provide the oversight and frameworks that build confidence with funders, regulators, and partners. Each National Board Subcommittee includes or is chaired by a member of the HAA Board, ensuring close alignment with organisational strategy.

What does success look like at the 12 month mark?

  • Fit-for-purpose risk appetite and reporting cadence established

  • Budget and cash-flow model aligned to growth scenarios

  • Assurance schedule (internal and external) agreed and underway

  • Funding controls mapped clearly to program outcomes

Expected Contribution

  • Commitment: Minimum of six meetings per year (in person or online)

  • Term: Initial two-year term commencing November 2025

  • Location: Hybrid or Remote

The Right Fit

We encourage executives to apply who are:

  • Curious about a first-time governance experience at national scale

  • Open to diversity of perspective and inclusive decision-making

  • Able to balance strategic thinking with practical contribution between meetings

  • Motivated to collaborate with peers across business, community and government

And, leaders who can demonstrate:

  • Proven expertise in finance, audit, risk and governance (CA/CPA desirable)

  • Board or senior committee experience, with a commercial lens applied to for-purpose objectives

  • Influence and networks across corporate, professional and community sectors

  • Ability to translate complex financial and risk insights into clear, actionable recommendations for diverse audiences

  • Pragmatism and creativity in balancing governance rigour with the agility of a growing, for-purpose organisation

  • Experience engaging with external stakeholders such as auditors, regulators, corporates, and philanthropic funders

The Benefits

This is an opportunity to steward the financial and governance backbone of a national movement. You will:

  • Work alongside senior leaders across law, finance, government and housing

  • Ensure every dollar delivers housing outcomes that matter

  • Build visibility and networks across Australia’s business, government and philanthropic communities

  • Contribute to a governance model at the forefront of national housing reform
