As part of its ongoing regional growth strategy, the company is seeking an experienced Commercial Director to lead commercial activities across multiple markets in Asia Pacific.
The Role
Reporting to the regional leadership team, the Commercial Director will be responsible for developing and executing commercial strategies to drive sustainable growth across a diverse portfolio of markets and sales channels.
This is a regional leadership role with responsibility for sales performance, business development, channel strategy, distributor management, and cross-functional collaboration. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping long-term growth plans while ensuring strong execution across the region.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Strategy & Business Growth
- Develop and implement regional commercial strategies to achieve business growth objectives.
- Identify new market opportunities and expansion initiatives across Asia Pacific.
- Establish long-term sales roadmaps, annual business plans, and channel development strategies.
- Monitor market trends, consumer behaviour, and competitive activities to identify growth opportunities.
Distributor & Channel Management
- Build strong relationships with distributors, wholesale partners, and key accounts.
- Provide strategic direction and support to business partners to improve commercial performance.
- Evaluate channel effectiveness and identify opportunities to enhance market coverage and customer reach.
- Drive sales performance across retail, wholesale, travel retail, e-commerce, and other relevant channels.
Retail & Customer Experience
- Support the development of retail strategies that strengthen brand positioning and customer engagement.
- Work closely with local teams and partners to elevate customer experience and in-store execution.
- Identify opportunities to enhance brand visibility and consumer connectivity across different markets.
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Partner closely with Marketing, Product, Supply Chain, Finance, and Operations teams to align business priorities.
- Contribute market insights to support product strategy and business planning.
- Ensure strong collaboration across functions to deliver commercial objectives.
Team Leadership
- Lead, coach, and develop a regional commercial team.
- Foster a high-performance, collaborative culture focused on accountability and continuous improvement.
- Build organizational capability to support future growth plans.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Management, or related discipline.
- 15+ years of commercial, sales, or general management experience within travel-related products, such as bags, luggage, performance watches or accessories.
- Proven success managing multi-country or regional business responsibilities across Asia Pacific.
- Strong experience in distributor management, channel development, and commercial planning.
- Demonstrated ability to drive both strategic initiatives and operational execution.
- Strong understanding of retail and consumer markets.
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.
- Experience leading and developing high-performing teams.
- Strong analytical, planning, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Fluency in English is required. Additional Asian language capabilities will be advantageous.
