Overview
A leading international retail sourcing organisation is looking for a (Senior) Product Developer – DIY Hand Tools to join its regional product development team.
This role plays a key part in driving end‑to‑end product development and innovation across DIY hand tools and accessories, from concept to launch. You will work closely with merchandising, sourcing, and quality teams to ensure products meet technical standards, market trends, and commercial objectives across global markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive end‑to‑end product development, from concept, design, and sampling through to final production
- Conduct market research and trend analysis within DIY hand tools and related categories
- Collaborate with merchandising, sourcing teams, and suppliers on product development and execution
- Coordinate development timelines with cross-functional teams in Asia and global headquarters
- Ensure products meet technical specifications, quality standards, and compliance requirements
- Contribute to product innovation and range development, bringing new ideas to the category
- Prepare and present product concepts and sales materials to internal stakeholders
- Manage development milestones and ensure on-time delivery and execution
- Work closely with suppliers to resolve development, costing, and production issues
What We’re Looking For
- Degree in Engineering, Product Development, or related discipline preferred
- Proven experience in product development within DIY tools, hardware, or related categories
- Strong understanding of product design, materials, and manufacturing processes
- Good sense of market trends and consumer needs in DIY / tools space
- Experience working with suppliers and factories in China / Asia
- Familiarity with tools such as PowerPoint, Excel (CAD / Adobe tools is a plus)
- Strong communication skills with ability to work across cross-functional and international teams
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects under tight timelines
- Fluency in English required; Mandarin / other languages a plus
