Shipping Executive

Overview

A leading international trading and sourcing company is looking for a Shipping Executive to join its Hong Kong operations team. This role is responsible for managing end-to-end import and export shipping activities, ensuring smooth shipment execution, accurate documentation, and timely delivery across global markets.

Working closely with suppliers, freight forwarders, shipping lines, customers, and internal teams, you will play a key role in maintaining efficient logistics operations and delivering excellent service to both internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end import and export shipment operations, ensuring timely and accurate execution.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, freight forwarders, shipping lines, and internal teams on shipment arrangements.
  • Compare freight rates and negotiate with logistics partners to achieve cost-effective shipping solutions.
  • Prepare and handle full sets of shipping documents, including Bills of Lading, commercial invoices, and packing lists.
  • Issue and manage Bills of Lading according to customer requirements.
  • Monitor shipment status and provide updates to customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Follow up on freight and supplier payments with finance and related parties.
  • Track shipments and prepare regular logistics and performance reports.
  • Identify and escalate shipment delays or operational issues proactively.
  • Support ad-hoc logistics projects and process improvement initiatives.

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum 3 years of full-set shipping experience, preferably with strong export exposure.
  • Good understanding of import/export documentation and shipping processes.
  • Hands-on experience handling Bills of Lading, L/C, D/A, D/P, commercial invoices, and packing lists.
  • Experience working with shipping lines, freight forwarders, and overseas suppliers.
  • Knowledge of trade compliance and international shipping regulations.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications and ERP/shipping systems.
