PQE Partners is exclusively partnering with the Australian arm of a globally recognised organisation to appoint a Legal Counsel.
Supporting the Australian business while benefiting from the backing and sophistication of a much larger international organisation, this is an excellent opportunity for a lawyer looking to broaden their commercial experience in-house.
Reporting to the the head of legal for the region, you'll join a small, collaborative legal team where you'll receive hands-on mentoring and work closely with stakeholders across the business.

This is a broad commercial role where you'll support the Australian business across a diverse range of legal and operational matters. Rather than being siloed into one area, you'll become a trusted adviser to the business, partnering with internal stakeholders and providing practical, commercially focused legal advice.
You'll gain exposure to a wide variety of work, making this an ideal opportunity for someone looking to make their first or second move in-house.

About you
You will be a lawyer with approximately 2-4 years' PQE, gained within a private practice firm and/or an in-house legal team.
We're looking for someone with strong commercial drafting skills, excellent attention to detail and a proactive, collaborative approach. Previous in-house experience is not essential, nor is experience across every area listed above. What's most important is your willingness to learn, your commercial mindset and your ability to build strong relationships across the business.
This role would suit someone looking to make their first or second move in-house and build a long-term career within a supportive legal team.

- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a broad range of commercial agreements
- Advising on customer agreements, supplier contracts and general commercial matters
- Supporting employment and workplace relations matters
- Providing advice on privacy, compliance and regulatory issues
- Assisting with customer complaints, disputes and risk management
- Supporting corporate governance and Risk Committee activities
- Maintaining legal templates, policies and internal precedents
- Working closely with stakeholders across the business to provide day-to-day legal advice
