About the role
As a Senior Travel Claims Assessor, you will manage complex and high-value travel insurance claims, providing technical expertise and ensuring claims are assessed accurately, efficiently and in line with policy coverage.
You will be responsible for assessing challenging claims, acting as a key escalation point for complex matters and working closely with internal teams, including Emergency Assistance, to provide guidance on eligibility, coverage and claims-related decisions.

About the role
As a Senior Travel Claims Assessor, you will manage complex and high-value travel insurance claims, providing technical expertise and ensuring claims are assessed accurately, efficiently and in line with policy coverage.
You will be responsible for assessing challenging claims, acting as a key escalation point for complex matters and working closely with internal teams, including Emergency Assistance, to provide guidance on eligibility, coverage and claims-related decisions.

Key responsibilities
- Assess and manage complex and high-value travel insurance claims, including claims involving significant medical treatment and financial losses.
- Review claims against policy wording, Product Disclosure Statements (PDS) and relevant guidelines.
- Provide expert advice and support on complex claims, acting as an escalation point for the wider Claims team.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders, including Emergency Assistance teams, to provide coverage guidance and claim support.
- Identify opportunities to improve claims processes, efficiency and customer outcomes.
- Ensure claims are managed in accordance with company policies, regulatory requirements and industry best practice.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation within claims management systems.
- Share knowledge and provide guidance to support capability across the Claims team.
About you
You are an experienced claims professional with a strong background in travel insurance or complex insurance claims. You enjoy analysing information, making sound decisions and delivering fair outcomes for customers.
You will bring:
- 3+ years’ experience in insurance claims assessment.
- Experience managing complex or high-value claims.
- Travel insurance experience is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of policy interpretation and claims processes.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work with a range of stakeholders.
- A proactive attitude with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Confidence using claims management systems and technology.
