Test Specialist 

Initial 6 months contract
Based in Perth CBD

Our client is seeking a Software Test Specialist to join a flagship program focused on AI-driven and real-time operational systems. You will work on cutting-edge software enabling next-generation industrial capabilities, including intelligent control systems, optimisation platforms, and mission-critical applications operating in complex, real-world environments.

This is a unique opportunity to contribute at the intersection of AI/ML, real-time systems, and large-scale distributed platforms, where reliability, performance, and safety are critical.

🔧 Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute test strategies for distributed and real-time systems
• Design and maintain automated testing frameworks (unit, integration, system, regression)
• Validate AI/ML-enabled systems, including data flows and model behaviour
• Conduct performance, load, and resilience testing
• Embed testing into CI/CD pipelines for continuous validation
• Collaborate with engineers and data scientists to improve system quality
• Support defect analysis and root cause investigations
• Contribute to release readiness and quality metrics

✅ What We’re Looking For

• Strong years’ experience in software testing / quality engineering
• Experience testing backend or distributed systems
• Strong experience with test automation tools and frameworks
• Hands-on experience working in CI/CD environments
• Familiarity with performance and load testing methodologies
• Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail

🛠 Technical Skills

• Testing APIs and microservices architectures
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes environments
• Understanding of distributed and event-driven systems
• Performance/load testing tools experience
• Working knowledge of Linux
• Scripting skills (e.g. Python, Bash)

⭐ Nice to Have

• Experience with real-time or high-availability systems
• Exposure to industrial or operational technology environments
• Experience testing AI/ML or data-driven platforms
