SEO Manager

We’ve partnered with an established Sydney-based digital agency looking for an experienced SEO Manager to take ownership of its SEO function and lead performance across a diverse client portfolio.

This is more than a strategy-only leadership role as you’ll remain close to execution while managing and developing SEO specialists, developers, content resources and offshore support teams.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Develop and execute SEO strategies across technical, on-page, off-page and local SEO.
• Lead and mentor SEO specialists, developers and offshore team members.
• Oversee keyword, content and link-building strategies across client campaigns.
• Analyse campaign performance and translate insights into clear action plans.
• Build scalable processes, improve quality standards and drive team accountability.
• Stay ahead of algorithm updates, SEO trends and emerging opportunities.

What We’re Looking For

• Ideally bring 5+ years of experience leading SEO teams, with a track record of connecting SEO performance to tangible business results.
• Strong technical SEO, content and link-building knowledge is essential, alongside the ability to confidently work with tools such as Ahrefs, SEMrush, Screaming Frog, SE Ranking, GA4, Google Search Console and Google Business Profile.
• Agency experience is highly regarded, particularly if you’ve managed multiple client accounts, worked with remote or offshore teams, or helped scale an SEO operation. Experience in SME lead generation, AI or SEO automation would also be advantageous.
• Most importantly, you’ll be someone who can lead from the front - comfortable developing the strategy, coaching the team and getting hands-on when required.
