Apply directFRS Recruitment are currently working with a highly successful and growing Main Civil Engineering Contractor who are looking to add Civil/Structural Design Engineers to their team in Co. Galway.
The company has a strong portfolio of large-scale Civil Engineering and Infrastructure projects across Ireland, with an excellent pipeline of work ahead.
Based primarily from the Galway office, you will join an established Design Office team and work across projects from initial concepts through detailed design and construction support. The position will involve close collaboration with civil, mechanical, electrical and construction teams.
The role will be predominantly office-based, with some site exposure required from time to time. There may also be an opportunity for hybrid working following successful completion of probation.
This is an excellent opportunity for an Engineer looking to develop technically, work across complex infrastructure projects and progress towards a more senior position within a growing contractor.
Responsibilities
- Deliver detailed civil, structural and geotechnical engineering designs.
- Prepare engineering calculations, reports, specifications and design documentation.
- Design reinforced concrete structures, foundations and retaining systems.
- Develop pipeline, drainage and buried infrastructure design solutions.
- Complete structural analysis in accordance with relevant Eurocodes.
- Review geotechnical investigations and develop appropriate engineering solutions.
- Support projects from concept through detailed design and construction.
- Coordinate designs with multidisciplinary engineering and construction teams.
Requirements
- Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, Level 8 equivalent.
- Minimum three years' relevant civil infrastructure design experience.
- Strong structural and geotechnical design calculation experience required.
- AutoCAD and Civil 3D experience highly advantageous.
- SCIA Engineer, CADS Geotechnical or similar software experience advantageous.
- Strong understanding of Eurocodes and Irish/UK design standards.
- Contractor or design-and-build environment experience highly desirable.
- Irish or UK engineering experience highly advantageous.
Salary & Benefits
- €55,000 - €70,000 depending on experience.
