Assemble is an end-to-end housing company which originates, delivers and manages sustainable, well-designed housing investment opportunities on behalf of institutional investor clients. By partnering across Government, industry and the community housing sector, Assemble delivers strong outcomes for investors while helping make housing more affordable and accessible for Australians. Assemble pursues this work with ambition, and holds itself accountable for delivering outcomes that are genuinely impactful for the communities it serves. As the organisation continues to grow, an opportunity has arisen for a risk and compliance professional to play a key role in the ongoing development and implementation of the Risk and Compliance Framework.

Reporting to the Deputy Company Secretary and Compliance Manager, this role takes ownership of the implementation and ongoing management of the Risk and Compliance Framework, working closely with business units to embed practical, risk-based approaches to compliance across the organisation. Key responsibilities include maintaining corporate and project risk registers, assisting with risk and compliance reporting for the Executive and Board, and supporting the governance team on statutory and Community Housing regulatory obligations. This broad role also contributes to company secretarial duties and assurance activities, and offers genuine scope to build and improve governance processes as Assemble continues to grow. This is a role for someone who takes ownership of outcomes and brings an authentic, solutions-focused approach to their work.

You will be a compliance and risk professional with approximately 3 to 5 years’ experience gained within a highly regulated industry, ideally within community housing or property development, although candidates from other regulated industries will also be considered. You will hold a tertiary qualification in business or a related discipline, together with postgraduate study in risk or compliance, or a genuine commitment to pursuing this. Strong communication skills, sound judgement, and the ability to build credibility and influence outcomes across all levels of the organisation are essential. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious governance professional who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and wants to make an impactful contribution to Assemble's continued growth.
