Senior Legal Counsel - Superannuation

Our client is a respected, profit-to-member superannuation fund based in Melbourne, managing billions in member benefits on behalf of a loyal membership base. Known for its strong governance and disciplined investment approach, the fund has grown through strategic consolidation and is now entering a period of growth and transformation. An opportunity has arisen for a mid to senior level superannuation lawyer to join its collaborative in-house legal team.

This role sits at the heart of the fund's legal function, providing senior level legal advice across the business, with a focus on superannuation products, regulatory compliance and trustee obligations. You will work closely with stakeholders to ensure the fund operates lawfully, prudently and in the best financial interests of its members, translating complex and evolving regulatory requirements into clear, practical, risk aware advice.

You are a results-focussed superannuation lawyer with deep knowledge of trust law, the SIS Act and Corporations Act, particularly as they apply to defined benefit and accumulation funds. You bring technical rigour and commercial judgment and advise senior stakeholders with confidence. Suits a Legal Counsel ready to step up, or an existing Senior Legal Counsel, or alternatively, a first-time mover from private practice. Melbourne based.
