The roles
Depending on the position, your responsibilities may include:
- Reading and interpreting construction drawings and formwork plans
- Measuring and setting out formwork to required dimensions and levels
- Constructing and installing formwork for concrete slabs, walls, columns, beams and footings
- Working with traditional timber formwork and proprietary formwork systems
- Installing bracing, props and supports in accordance with project requirements
- Checking formwork alignment, stability and dimensions before concrete pours
- Stripping formwork when authorised and preparing materials for reuse
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe work area
About you
- Australian carpentry trade qualification or equivalent international qualification
- For UK and Irish applicants: a relevant City & Guilds, NVQ or equivalent qualification in carpentry or formwork
- Relevant post-apprenticeship experience in formwork carpentry
- Experience with timber and/or proprietary formwork systems
- Ability to read drawings and work accurately to specifications
- Strong attention to detail and understanding of formwork safety
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Commitment to safe work practices
- Australian construction White Card, or willingness to obtain one before commencing work
