The roles
Depending on the position, your responsibilities may include:
- Reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications
- Setting out brickwork and blockwork to required measurements
- Laying bricks and blocks to construct walls, partitions and other structures
- Mixing and applying mortar
- Cutting and shaping bricks and blocks to suit project requirements
- Checking alignment, levels and finished work for accuracy
- Repairing and restoring existing brickwork
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe work area
About you
- Australian bricklaying trade qualification or equivalent international qualification
- For UK and Irish applicants: a relevant City & Guilds, NVQ or equivalent qualification in bricklaying
- Relevant post-apprenticeship experience
- Experience in residential or commercial bricklaying and blockwork
- Ability to read drawings and work accurately to specifications
- Strong attention to detail and pride in the quality of your work
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Commitment to safe work practices
- Australian construction White Card, or willingness to obtain one before commencing work
