LORG Talent is partnering with an established Australian bus and coach manufacturer to recruit a qualified Auto Electrician for a permanent, full-time opportunity in Melbourne.

The role

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Diagnosing and repairing 12-volt and 24-volt vehicle electrical systems
  • Completing electrical diagnostics, fault-finding and repairs
  • Diagnosing faults in wiring, ECUs, lighting, alternators and starter motors, and carrying out appropriate repairs or replacements
  • Installing and maintaining vehicle electrical components and accessories
  • Performing preventative electrical maintenance
  • Diagnosing and repairing vehicle air-conditioning systems, where qualified
  • Maintaining accurate job cards and service records
  • Working safely and supporting the workshop team


About you

  • Australian Auto Electrical trade qualification or equivalent international qualification
  • For UK and Irish applicants: a relevant City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3, IMI or equivalent qualification in automotive electrical work
  • Minimum of 2 years’ post-apprenticeship experience as an Auto Electrician
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
  • Experience working on trucks, buses, coaches or other heavy commercial vehicles
  • Current driver’s licence
  • Air-conditioning experience, with an ARCtick licence highly regarded
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
