We are seeking experienced Procurement Advisors (APS6 equivalent) to join a high-performing Federal Government procurement team supporting a broad range of strategic and operational procurement activities.

This is an excellent opportunity for procurement professionals with Commonwealth Government experience who enjoy partnering with stakeholders, delivering compliant procurement outcomes, and managing end-to-end procurement processes.

About the Opportunity

You will provide procurement advisory services across the full procurement lifecycle, helping business areas achieve value-for-money outcomes while ensuring compliance with the Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPRs) and relevant legislative and governance frameworks.

Working within a collaborative procurement team, you will support a diverse portfolio of procurement activities ranging from low to medium-risk procurements while contributing to capability uplift and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

As a Procurement Advisor, you will:

  • Manage end-to-end procurement activities from planning through to contract establishment.
  • Engage with business stakeholders to understand requirements, priorities, risks and procurement objectives.
  • Develop procurement strategies, spending proposals and supporting documentation.
  • Prepare high-quality Approach to Market (ATM) documentation, including RFQs, RFTs and RFIs.
  • Conduct market research and supplier analysis.
  • Facilitate procurement evaluations and prepare evaluation plans and reports.
  • Support supplier negotiations and contract establishment activities.
  • Assist with contract variations, extensions and procurement-related advice.
  • Maintain accurate procurement documentation and audit trails.
  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with Commonwealth Procurement Rules, the PGPA Act and internal procurement frameworks.
  • Identify procurement risks and provide practical, compliant solutions.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders while promoting procurement best practice.

About You

To be successful you will demonstrate:

  • 2–5 years' experience delivering procurement within the Australian Commonwealth Government.
  • Strong knowledge of the Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPRs).
  • Experience managing end-to-end procurement activities.
  • Experience preparing procurement documentation including spending proposals, ATM documentation and evaluation reports.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and document drafting capabilities.
  • Experience supporting procurement evaluations and supplier negotiations.
  • Relevant qualifications in procurement, contracts, commerce, business or a related discipline are highly regarded.

Essential Requirements

  • Australian Citizenship.
  • Current Negative Vetting Level 1 (NV1) Security Clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain one.
  • Experience working within Commonwealth Government procurement environments.
