Apply directAt ConnectedGroup, we are supporting a local organization working in developing educational programs for children with learning difficulties in the search for their Executive Director.
Reporting into the Board of Directors and leading an interdisciplinary team, the Executive Director will lead the organisation's overall operations, educational service delivery, people management, fundraising, financial sustainability, and external engagement. This is a hands-on leadership position requiring a balance of strategic oversight and day-to-day operational management.
Responsibilities
- Lead the organisation and ensure its strategy, programmes, and operations are delivered effectively.
- Work closely with the Board and committees on organisational priorities, performance, and key decisions.
- Oversee financial planning, budgeting, and resource management to support organisational sustainability.
- Lead fundraising efforts, develop funding opportunities, and maintain relationships with donors and supporters.
- Oversee the delivery and quality of programmes and services, ensuring they meet organisational objectives.
- Manage and develop staff (administrative and academic), fostering a collaborative and effective working environment.
- Ensure appropriate policies, procedures, and compliance measures are in place.
- Build relationships with key stakeholders, including partners, funders, families, community groups, and government bodies.
- Represent the organisation externally and support communications, advocacy, and public engagement activities.
- Monitor sector trends and developments to help inform organisational planning and growth.
- Undertake other duties as required by the Board.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, master’s degree highly desired.
- Proven experience in a senior leadership or management role.
- Experience overseeing organisational operations, budgets, and financial management, ideally within the education sector.
- Ability to work effectively with Boards, committees, and other senior stakeholders.
- Experience developing partnerships and engaging with donors, funders, or external stakeholders.
- Strong people management skills, with the ability to lead, develop, and support multidisciplinary teams (ideally managing academic and administrative staff).
- Sound understanding of governance, compliance, and organisational best practices.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to think strategically while managing day-to-day operational priorities.
- Strong planning, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to the organisation's mission and values.
- Fluency in English and Cantonese
