Apply directAt ConnectedGroup, we are supporting an international family foundation focused on health, environmental sustainability, humanitarian assistance, and community welfare, in the search for an Philanthropy Officer.
Reporting into senior leadership, the Philanthropy Officer will support the organizations’ charitable giving and social impact activities across Hong Kong and selected international locations. The ideal candidate should combine strong analytical ability with a genuine interest in social impact and community development. Salary budget HKD 35,000 – 40,000.
Responsibilities
- Research, identify and evaluate charitable organisations, programmes and social impact initiatives aligned with the organisation's funding priorities.
- Conduct due diligence on potential projects, including assessment of organisational capability, governance, financial sustainability, risks and expected outcomes.
- Prepare research, analysis and recommendations to support funding and investment decisions.
- Monitor the progress of funded projects and maintain regular engagement with partner organisations.
- Review project updates, milestones and outcomes to ensure initiatives remain aligned with agreed objectives.
- Support the measurement and assessment of social impact through data collection, analysis and reporting.
- Assist in preparing reports, presentations and communications related to funded initiatives and portfolio performance.
- Build and maintain relationships with non-profit organisations, social enterprises, community groups and other stakeholders with aligned objectives.
- Identify opportunities for collaboration, partnerships and knowledge sharing within the social impact sector.
- Support the ongoing development and promotion of the organisation's philanthropic and social investment activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences or a related discipline.
- Approximately 2–3 years of experience in philanthropy, grant-making, social investment, community development, non-profit organisations, corporate social responsibility or a related field.
- Strong research, analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships across a range of stakeholders.
- Well organised, detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple priorities.
- Strong digital literacy and proficiency with technology and online research tools.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative environment.
- Candidate must have a valid Hong Kong work permit.
