Apply directAt ConnectedGroup, we are supporting an international non-profit organisation, dedicated to creating pathways to employment, training, rehabilitation, and services for disadvantaged communities, in the search for their Country Manager.
Reporting into regional leadership and leading a small team, the Country Manager will be responsible for taking on a hands-on approach, covering fundraising with government and foundations, customer engagement, team leadership, strategic planning for long-term growth, and office administration, requiring fluency in Cantonese and English, with Mandarin as an advantage.
Responsibilities
- Strategic planning and governance, including development of annual business strategies, operational plans, and budgets.
- Provide advice on local operational issues to senior leadership and ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
- Lead sales and customer engagement, structuring and closing deals, onboarding new suppliers, and diversifying revenue streams.
- Drive fundraising efforts with government bodies and foundations, alongside commercial partnerships.
- Oversee programme delivery, financial sustainability, risk management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with employers, funders, partners, and stakeholders.
- Lead a small team, fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performance culture.
- Ensure workplace health and safety systems are in place and adhered to.
- Manage office administration and day-to-day operations.
- Identify opportunities to expand services to support additional marginalised communities.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Business studies or similar
- Senior leadership experience in relevant sectors such as social enterprise, recruitment, professional services, NGO, education, ESG, DEI, workforce development, disability inclusion, or employment services.
- Strong business acumen and proven ability to lead a performance-driven organisation.
- Experience in fundraising and partnership development.
- Ability to balance strategic oversight with hands-on delivery.
- Skilled in building and maintaining internal and external relationships.
- Clear communication skills in English and Cantonese; Mandarin is an advantage.
- Demonstrated ability to manage continuity, change, and transition.
- Commitment to inclusive leadership, accessibility, diversity, equity, and cross-cultural collaboration.
- Strong organisational and operational management skills.
- Ability to motivate, mentor, and develop teams.
