Snowflake Data Engineer

An established Australian Not-for-Profit is continuing to invest in its data capability and is looking for an experienced Snowflake Data Engineer to join its growing data team.

This is a hands-on engineering role where you will help build and enhance the organisation’s modern data platform, improving how data is integrated, transformed and made available across the business.

The role

Working closely with the broader Data & Analytics team, you will:

• Design, build and maintain scalable data pipelines and data solutions within Snowflake
• Develop robust ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest and transform data from multiple source systems
• Build and optimise data models to support analytics, reporting and downstream data products
• Write high-quality SQL and improve the performance and reliability of existing data processes
• Work with cloud-based data and integration technologies
• Implement appropriate data quality, testing, monitoring and engineering standards
• Partner with analysts, BI developers and business stakeholders to understand data requirements
• Contribute to the continued development of the organisation's modern data platform and engineering practices

About you

You will be an experienced Data Engineer with strong hands-on experience working with Snowflake in a production environment.

Ideally, you will bring:

• Strong commercial experience with Snowflake
• Advanced SQL skills
• Experience developing ETL/ELT and data pipelines
• Strong understanding of data modelling and modern data warehouse concepts
• Experience with Python for data engineering
• Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure
• Experience with modern transformation/orchestration tools would be highly regarded
• Understanding of CI/CD, version control and good software engineering practices
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
