In this role, you will work as an integral member of the Commercial Finance Team, focusing on analysing financial data, providing actionable insights, and supporting operational excellence. Your expertise will help shape the business’s financial strategies, monitor key performance metrics, and ensure profitable growth within the retail domain.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive analysis of financial performance, including P&L statements, sales trends, and expense management.
• Prepare, analyse, and report a suite of commercial reports to facilitate decision-making and optimise revenue and profit margins.
• Manage customer rebate programs, liaising with sales leadership to process rebate calculations, review agreements, and prepare relevant journal entries.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes, including monthly tracking and variance analysis.
• Assist in developing business cases and strategic initiatives through stakeholder consultation and data-driven insights.
• Contribute to management accounts preparation and annual budgeting efforts.
• Identify and address issues related to occupational health and safety standards, ensuring a safe work environment.
• Participate actively in team meetings and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet organisational goals and deliver exceptional service.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

• Proven experience in commercial finance, business analytics, or related roles within retail or similar sectors.
• Strong proficiency in financial modelling, P&L analysis, and key performance indicator reporting.
• Advanced skills in MS Excel, with the ability to manipulate large datasets and create complex reports.
• Experience with financial systems and reporting tools (ERP and BI platforms desirable).
• Exceptional attention to detail and analytical thinking.
• Ability to communicate complex financial insights clearly and concisely to non-financial stakeholders.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Experience with rebate management systems and contractual negotiations.
• Knowledge of retail sales processes, promotional activities, and related financial drivers.
• Prior exposure to budgeting and forecasting within a dynamic commercial environment.
• Certification in finance or relevant industry qualifications.

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in commercial finance or business analysis roles, preferably within retail.
