Join a leading Australian retail organisation in this broad and varied role, combining financial accounting and treasury within a high-volume, dynamic environment.
Reporting to the Finance Operations and Treasury Manager, you will play an important role across the organisation’s finance operations, with the position weighted towards financial accounting while also providing strong exposure to treasury, cash flow and liquidity management.
This is a great opportunity for a finance professional who enjoys a broad remit and is looking to work across financial accounting, treasury operations, reconciliations, controls, cash flow forecasting and process improvement within a well-established Australian retail business.
Key responsibilities
- Managing daily cash positions and optimising liquidity across multiple entities and jurisdictions.
- Forecasting short and medium-term cash flows to ensure sufficient funding, particularly during peak periods.
- Overseeing treasury activities including bank transactions, receipts, payments and reconciliations.
- Driving improvements in tender settlements, POS cashflows and merchant facilities management.
- Managing FX exposure, supporting hedging activities and mitigating currency risk.
- Maintaining internal controls and ensuring compliance with policies and external regulations.
- Preparing treasury performance reports and providing insights on variances and trends.
- Supporting budgeting and cash flow forecasting processes.
- Promoting process improvements and automation to increase efficiency.
- Collaborating with internal teams and external auditors to support governance and risk mitigation.
About you
- Minimum five years’ experience across treasury or finance, preferably within retail or another high-volume environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business, with CPA or CA qualification preferred.
- Strong knowledge of treasury operations, cash flow forecasting and liquidity management.
- Experience managing FX risks and supporting hedging strategies.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting and attention-to-detail skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and contribute to process automation initiatives.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders.
- Knowledge of retail industry controls and risk management practices is advantageous.
- Willingness to support occasional travel as required.
