Financial Accountant

An exciting opportunity for a hands-on and commercially minded accountant to join a fast-growing ANZ business working closely with an experienced CFO. This role offers strong exposure across financial accounting, compliance, forecasting, process improvement, and commercial support, with a clear pathway into a broader Finance Manager / business partnering role over time.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and support month-end close and reporting
• Prepare journals, reconciliations, and balance sheet reviews
• Manage NZ compliance including GST, PAYE, FBT, and tax obligations
• Support forecasting, cashflow, and financial analysis
• Assist with payroll and wider finance operations
• Identify process improvement, automation, and efficiency opportunities
• Support audit and year-end reporting processes
• Partner with operational stakeholders across the business

Key Criteria

• 3–5+ years’ commercial accounting experience
• CA / CPA qualified or working toward completion
• Strong technical accounting and month-end capability
• Understanding of NZ tax compliance
• Positive, proactive, and willing to roll up your sleeves
• Strong communication skills and commercial curiosity
• Interest in systems, automation, and continuous improvement
