Senior Product Design Engineer (Interior)

The Senior Product Design Engineer leads the product design team in a customer program.

He is in charge of the complete design, in compliance with Feasability of product and process, Cost, Timing, Performance and People objectives and within PMS requirements.

Details:

• goes from concept design received from Concept Engineering to Design Freeza at tool kick of. In further program phases including serial life the SPDE is in charge of the design of ECRs
• Build the internal design schedule to match with the customer master schedule
• All tasks are done with the appropriate tools and in compliance with the PMS work-packages, FES standards & 7-Quality-Basics, in support of functional milestone “time to pass” objective.
• Reporting: Monthly report summary of design progress (on PRC-template), including corresponding action plans.
• He capitalizes experience on the design through lessons learnt process

Product definition:  tasks including -- 

• Lead completion of CAD to ensure compliance to requirements (acceptance of customer product specification including geometry convergence together with his design team on site and off shore
• Leads the FMEA (/ Participates to ??? => to check with V8 PMS)
• Establish and manage the bill of materials within Faurecia PDM (TBD)
• Follows up the design progress and enter all design related issues into a “single list of issues” to be shared with the on site and off shore design team
• Implement Faurecia standards and guidelines and manage potential conflicts with customer’s standards with PoC (internal deviation approval). 
• Support risk management through robust design with compliance to product/process design standards (per KM plan),
• Checks process feasibility of the product design (moulding, welding, assembly…)
• Controls DMU

Requirements

• ü       Master's (not needed, only desired), bachelor's degree in engineering, technician, or significant professional experience (TBD)
• ü       Minimum 5 years of proven experience in design within an industrial environment, preferably on automotive interior parts
• ü       Meets the requirements of the Engineering Profile for the function (mandatory trainings)
• ü       Knowledge of 7 Quality Basics.  
• ü       Leadership skills
• ü       Team leader with strong communication and managerial skills
• ü       Able to work in a multicultural environment
• ü       English required, and customer’s language strongly encouraged
