People & Culture Lead

With continued growth across Victoria and interstate, the business is investing in People & Culture and is looking for someone ready to take ownership of the function and help shape what comes next.

The Role

This is a newly created opportunity for an experienced HR professional ready to take the next step into a broader leadership role.
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will have the autonomy to build, improve and lead the People & Culture function while remaining close to the employees and leaders you support.

You will:

• Build and shape the People & Culture function, introducing practical processes, frameworks and initiatives that support a growing business
• Partner directly with the Managing Director and operational leaders on people strategy, workforce challenges and business priorities
• Lead employee relations, performance management and complex people matters across a diverse frontline workforce
• Drive engagement, retention and culture initiatives that make a measurable difference across the business
• Strengthen recruitment, onboarding and workforce planning to support continued national growth
• Coach managers to improve leadership capability, performance and confidence in managing their teams
• Spend approximately half your time at the St Kilda Road office and half working across operational sites throughout Melbourne and regional Victoria
• Support a national workforce, including occasional interstate travel as the business continues to expand

About You

You may already be operating at P&C Manager level, but this role could equally suit a high-performing HR Business Partner or Senior HR Advisor who is ready to take ownership of their own function.

You will bring:

• At least 4 years of broad HR or People & Culture experience, with strong capability across employee relations, performance management and generalist HR
• Experience partnering with operational leaders and the confidence to challenge, influence and provide practical advice
• A hands-on approach and genuine interest in working closely with frontline employees rather than operating solely from head office
• Strong knowledge of Australian employment legislation, Fair Work requirements and contemporary HR practices

Highly regarded, but not essential

• Experience within facilities, property services, logistics, transport, manufacturing, hospitality, healthcare, community services or another multi-site operational environment
