We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to join a high-profile government program focused on uplifting data platforms, improving data accessibility, and enabling advanced analytics capabilities.
This role will play a key part in designing, building, and optimising scalable data pipelines and modern data solutions within a complex, regulated environment.

This role will play a key part in designing, building, and optimising scalable data pipelines and modern data solutions within a complex, regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build and maintain scalable data pipelines and data platforms
- Develop robust ETL/ELT processes to support analytics and reporting needs
- Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to translate data requirements into solutions
- Optimise and manage data storage, processing, and performance
- Ensure high standards of data quality, governance, and security compliance
- Support continuous improvement through automation, monitoring, and DevOps practices
- Contribute to architectural decisions and long-term data strategy
- Must have working experience with Spark/Pyspark, PEGA and Palantir
- Strong experience in data engineering and data platform development
- Proficiency with SQL and data modelling
- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP – Azure preferred)
- Hands-on experience with data integration tools and frameworks (e.g. Azure Data Factory, Databricks)
- Experience building and optimising data pipelines and data lakes / warehouses
- Knowledge of CI/CD, automation, and DevOps practices
- Familiarity with Python, Scala, or similar scripting languages
- Experience delivering data solutions in complex or regulated environments
- Strong stakeholder engagement and ability to work across multidisciplinary teams
- Proven ability to work independently and deliver outcomes in fast-paced environments
- Experience working in Agile delivery environments
- Experience within government or financial intelligence / regulatory environments
- Exposure to large-scale data transformation programs
- Must have an AGSVA NV1 clearance
- Hybrid working model (office + remote)
